firm approach

GMA’s approach to building design is based on the belief that the process is an exchange of concepts, ideas and thought processes that lead to a shared learning experience between the client and GMA. We firmly believe that the client is the best source of information regarding their product handling, storage and delivery. GMA makes it a point to not only listen to what a client is saying, but to actually hear what is being said and thus put this information forward in such a manner that the client will have a facility that meets and exceeds his wants, needs and desires.

Client Satisfaction

GMA has the experience to perform the design process associated with all construction projects in a varied manner. Depending on the time frame allocated from the start of the design to the owner occupancy, we can offer three different methods. We offer a traditional “Design-Bid-Build” (Plan and Spec), “Fast-Track” and “Design-Build” services depending on our client’s requests. For each type of service, GMA will assign an Architect in Charge responsible for the code analysis of the project and coordination among all design disciplines and a Project Architect responsible for directing the support staff, as well as maintaining the daily schedule of the project to insure completion in the time frame allotted. An Interior Designer is assigned to the project whose responsibility is to meet with the client to discuss colors, materials and finishes and present to the client for review and approval.

 Quality Assurance

GMA’s Quality Assurance (QA) process is integrated into our procedures at the project, office and firm-wide levels. At the project level, project teams hold formal Inter-disciplinary and Intra-disciplinary Quality Assurance reviews at project milestones. At the office level, all projects undergo a third party review with GMA QA professionals outside the team at critical junctures. Firm-wide, the team has access to our “Best Practice Quality Assurance” procedures, resources and a database of reference materials.

Budget & Schedule Management

The construction budget is defined early with the client and is consistently tested throughout the design process. GMA has in-house construction estimating services available to all U.S. locations. We recognize that a project’s success is dependent upon on-time completion and being on budget, as well as creatively solving the design requirements. GMA’s project leaders develop work plans tied into our accounting and estimating software that monitor tasks, staffing and schedule requirements before and throughout the project.
